Mass balance studies of volatile chlorinated hydrocarbon phytoremediation.
In field-scale mass balance studies of poplar remediation of carbon tetrachloride (CT), more than 95% of the mass of CT was degraded with all of the CT chlorine accountable as chloride ion accumulation in the soil. Atmospheric loss of CT through leaf transpiration and trunk diffusion was insignificant. These findings are consistent with previously reported uptake and degradation of trichloroeth...
متن کاملPOSITIVE AND NEGATIVE ION MASS SPECTRA OF RING - SUBSTITUTED NITROBENZENES
The 70 ev positive and negative ion mass spectra of ring-substituted nitrobenzenes were studied. The influence of the substituent group on the fragmentation modes of the molecular ions is discussed. The effect of pressure in the formation of negative ions was also studied. As expected, the ratio of fragment ions to negative molecular ions decreased with increasing pressure in ion source.
متن کاملAn in situ silver cationization method for hydrocarbon mass spectrometry.
We have developed a novel cationization method for the analysis of long-chain hydrocarbons via UV laser desorption mass spectrometry. In this technique we electrospray a thin coating of AgNO3 over a sample and perform UV laser desorption to produce Ag+ cationization of sample molecules. Use of this technique in our microscope/TOF-MS allows us to determine the spatial distribution of the species...
متن کاملMulticomponent mass transfer across water "lms during hydrocarbon gas injection
Understanding the dynamics of pore-scale multicomponent gas and oil mass transfer across water "lms during hydrocarbon gas injection in petroleum reservoirs is important in the design of tertiary oil recovery schemes at the "eld scale. The water "lms prevent oil and gas coming into direct contact and, for miscible gas injection, delay the onset of miscibility. We use a pore-scale model to descr...
متن کاملGas Chromatographic-Mass Spectrometric Analysis of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon Metabolites in Antarctic Fish (Notothenia gibberifrons) Injected with Diesel Fuel Arctic
Fish (Notothenia gibberifrons) collected in pristine Antarctic sites were injected with Diesel Fuel Arctic (DFA). Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) was used to identify and quantify polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) metabolites obtained from hydrolyzed fish bile. The concentrations of naphthols (NPH), phenanthrenols (PHN), dibenzothiophenols (DBT), and total PAH metabolites (EPAH...
